MURRELLS INLET— Close to the county line in Murrells Inlet the morning of July 28, Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce helped break ground for a new $45 million senior living facility called Magonlia Bridge.

Set to open in 12 months, Julia White with Magnolia Bridge said it is already one-third of the way reserved out, and she expects it to have a waitlist by the time it opens.

With 170 units in total, project developer SRI's CEO Don Bishop told members of the Horry and Georgetown County community he believes Magnolia Bridge's unique amneities and close location to grocery stores, churches, golf courses and more are what is going to make it stand out from other communities like it.

"Social hour, happy hour every day ... heartful care, which is creating individual unique types of services that is going to meet the needs of our residents," Bishop said. "And of course we'll have a wellness center, bistro pub, private dining, outdoor dining, spacious salon and spa and then of course we're here, so we also have a golf simulator, too.'"

There are 89 independent living units inside the main facility, 18 two bed, two bath cottages located on the outskirts of the main facility, 44 assisted living units and 19 memory care units at Magnolia Bridge, according to Bishop. This community will also bring 85 full-time jobs and $2 million in annual salaries to the area, said Bishop.
