• Boutique Blues: the cool modern tones

The Boutique Blues family spans a cooling spectrum, from pale and chalky sky blues, to a proud green-toned peaco*ck blue and deep inky grey-blues. In colour psychology, blue represents stability, harmony, and peace. The ultimate shape-shifter, blues can be youthful and bright, perfect for a contemporary kitchen, they can conjure images of the mediterranean, or provide a calming backdrop for a good night's sleep.

'Gone are the days when blues were seen as too cold to use,' says Sarah Keady, House Beautiful's Style and Interiors Director. 'Dark, inky hues are now the go to for communal areas like living rooms and kitchens – its cocooning but also wonderfully dramatic.'

• Back to Nature: the earthy greens

Back to Nature captures the myriad tones of the outdoors including a pale sage, the yellow-toned green of new shoots, and a sophisticated forest green. Greens are usually associated with balance, and act as the bridge between stimulating warm colours and calming cool colours.

'Our desire to connect to the outdoors is still so strong – these serene shades of sage, citrine and moss help bring this feeling into your home,' says Sarah. 'Use alongside plants and natural wood for maximum effect.'

No modern paint collection would be complete without an array of on-trend grey shades.

'Grey isn't going anywhere and we know that the simple Scandi look is here to stay – so with that in mind we have developed a range of hues that work brilliantly together or coupled with stronger shades for a striking colour combo,' says Sarah.

The Mono Tones family take you from a warm greige, across purple-toned mid greys, and deep graphites. In colour psychology, grey represents neutrality and balance, and provides a great base from which to build a classic colour palette.

'Toasty tones are everywhere right now,' says Sarah, 'from fashion right through to interiors – rich, spicy shades of saffron, turmeric and paprika are energetic, high intensity colours that will bring joy and energy to any room you cover in this colour.'

• Think Pink: a perfect edit of pinks

Think Pink is the perfect edit of modern pink tones, offering delicate peachy pinks, a sophisticated take on millennial pink, and an eye-catching fuchsia.

'Take it from us – pinks are the new neutral,' says Sarah. 'From soft plaster to playful coral, this palette is pretty but the right side of modern. It's also just as versatile as grey and pairs wonderfully with most other colours. We love it partnered with monochrome.'
